The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulates the use of the USDA Organic seal, which is used for products that adhere to USDA’s strict production and labeling standards. Products with this seal must contain at least 95% organic ingredients. GMO ingredients are not permitted by Organic standards; therefore, organic products are also non-GMO.
Yes. Because the formula contains the same amounts of calories, fat, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals per serving as PediaSure® Grow & Gain, PediaSure Grow & Gain Organic is clinically proven to help kids grow (studied in children at risk for malnutrition).
On our label, non-GMO refers to the fact that the ingredients in the product are not genetically engineered. There isn’t a national standard for labeling non-GMO, so we’ve chosen to be consistent with the European Union standards.
It is not recommended for sole-source nutrition because it does not contain conditionally essential amino acids taurine and carnitine (an amino acid derivative) and inositol, also known as vitamin B8. These nutrients may be essential to those with certain health conditions.

No, artificial growth hormones are not used with the cows that provide milk for PediaSure Grow & Gain Organic. The FDA has stated there is no significant difference between milk derived from rbST-treated and non-rbST-treated.
Yes, the cows that produce the milk for PediaSure Organic graze outdoors on grass as their sole food source most of the year. In the winter months, if grazing is not feasible, the cows are fed grass (in the form of grass silage or grass hay) and some grain, if needed.
We always strive to make great-tasting, nutritious shakes. With PediaSure Grow & Gain Organic, we were limited to using organic cane sugar as there were no organic sweeteners available that suited the product at the time of formulation.
Carrageenan is an extract from a red seaweed commonly known as Irish Moss. Carrageenan is a common food additive that helps thicken and stabilize, improving texture. Some scientists have presented evidence that carrageenan is inflammatory, but others have provided reasons that this evidence is flawed and misleading. PediaSure Grow & Gain Organic does not contain carrageenan to help appeal to consumers who are concerned about the ingredient.
